Our Beliefs
Our essential beliefs are intended to be the basis for fellowship. There will always be peripheral doctrines that committed Christians disagree upon, but the essential beliefs of Christianity are non-negotiable. Below is a list of RSBC’s essential beliefs.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. This is the basis for our beliefs and bylaws. Our Church is autonomous and maintains the right to govern its own affairs, independent of any denominational control. Recognizing, however, the benefits of cooperation with other churches in world missions, our Church voluntarily affiliates with the Southern Baptist Convention in its national, state, and local expressions.
RSBC also possesses the following core values:
Evangelism & Missions – To share the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world (Matthew 28:18-20).
Discipleship – Assisting Christians in developing spiritual understanding and maturity (Proverbs 27:17).
Worship – To participate in public worship services together and to maintain personal daily devotions (John 4:24).
Ministry & Service – To serve unselfishly in Jesus’ name, meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in the Church, and our community, and the world (1 Peter 4:10-11).
Fellowship – To encourage, support, and pray for each other, as members of the family of God. To share our lives together (Hebrews 10:23-25).
Leadership – We view godly character, prayer and commitment as keys to Christian leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-7).
